The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 整部影片还没有简介精彩，可能电影实在过于冗长，完全没有神秘感和紧凑的情节。

【C+】倒也没必要过度执着于符号的意义，最后十分钟的脑内幻想蒙太奇已经把整部影片要讲的东西给捋顺了，某种程度上可以看作对之前神秘氛围的一种背叛。核心主题与《鬼魅浮生》类似，个体在旅途中丧失了自我，迷离于时空尺度，直至寻求定义才能重获新生。钟意A24那独特的视听美学，但在本片里只是用于营造高雅幻想的手段，实质仍是破碎残缺的闪亮碎片。
第一次在上海电影博物馆看的电影，老实说没看懂。但是里面追逐男主的狐狸突然strike back：之前Stephen和菲编连线，Stephen说神父的狐狸是“天堂的猎犬”，也就是神的化身，追逐感化背弃信仰选择俗世欢愉的人。

7/10. 只想要爽片和动作大场面的观众还是洗洗睡吧。本片灰暗，缓慢，带着六百年前原著的道貌与荒诞。导演通过非常艺术化的影像语言，用高文爵士的荒野奇幻冒险为外衣，表现的却是其自省与求索的精神内核。
很多隐喻符号意识流的东西，不懂用典会看得云山雾罩。
有诗意，没深度，这么简单一个故事能拍俩小时也是不容易。
常识科学，哲学三管齐下。
