The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 虽然开头就能猜到老头是庄，有些地方差点意思，但是蛮精彩的，吊打一众大制作商业片
舞台剧文本操办为电影化的成功典范，低成本小身材的大作为。狭小且局限的空间内，通过对白完成角色塑造，实现高效转场和运镜的教科书，每一次反转都逻辑自洽，尤其结尾的神来一笔。

一直看到临近结尾阿武和师父从酒馆里走出来，送阿武上车时跟他说如果车费有剩余记得拿回来给我的那一幕才彻底明白了阿武在师父心里的份量，也确实没想到这竟然说师徒此生最后的缘份。
剧场感太强烈了，这种剧情紧凑又张弛有度的室内戏我好爱。
《模仿游戏》编剧的导演处女作，发生封闭房间里的多重反转剧，充满舞台剧风格的野心之作。有点像西德尼·吕美特的《死亡计中计》。但可能因为设计感太强，惊喜和悬念都未能坚持到最后。如果导演不是花大部分心思于戏剧结构的设计，其实可以像开头一样，多拍一些主人公裁量衣服的情节。这种沉浸于手艺和细节之中的戏份，极富质感。有《魅影缝匠》的神韵。期待导演的小说《最初的光明，最后的黑暗》早日搬上荧幕！

精巧的剧情设计，完美的视觉呈现，舞台话剧的细腻表演，小成本制作的典范。
