The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 虽然整个设定其实有点经不起推敲，但是导演对情感的把控还是很到位的，非常细腻动人

影片的演绎都是关于告别，同自己、同爱人，这份费心铺垫，残忍又何其幸运，现实里太多人都没有个像样的告别。影片启止纯粹如一，结局深情而伤感，只要自己爱的人幸福就好，无论最后陪伴她的人是谁。大爱如此，似傻如痴，可也正展现了人类拥有真挚感情的美好。
