The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 歌难听。好的桥段几乎是1：1照搬贝利叶，改编只是换种语言。生活无忧的畜牧业小农场主变成生活拮据又受多重政策监管的渔民，姐弟变兄妹。多出来的家庭故事线和原版走向了相反的道路。在贝利叶一家，聋哑并不是问题。严肃化处理之后的CODA，聋哑又变成了阻碍女主向前的问题。
