In May and June 2018, Jean-Gabriel Périot collaborated with ten students in a film class at a high school in Ivry-sur-Seine on a project that unites cinema with politics. The students worked both in front of and behind the camera, restaging scenes of strikes, resistance, and labour disputes from films dating from the late 1960s to the late 1970s, including ones by Jean-Luc Godard and Alain Tanner. Nos défaites assembles the results, and adds interviews in which the director queries the students about the scenes they’ve just acted in, about such concepts as “class,” “labour union,” and “political engagement,” about wider social contexts. It’s a simple, yet trenchant setup, affording viewers a glimpse of how a younger generation sees politics and the political cinema of the past. The film also documents the director’s attempts to stir up the students. The conversations vary between encounters in which director and students seem on an equal footing, based on more teacher-like questioning by the never-visible director, and contemplations of revolution in the here and now: the performance of an uprising follows reflection upon the same. Could this lead to one happening for real?

Lucien是法国19世纪的一位充满抱负的年轻诗人。他离乡别井，告别以印刷为生的家族前往巴黎碰碰运气。在这座五光十色的城市裡，Lucien意识到自己来到一个充满谎言，一切以利益主导的世界。在巴尔札克的人间喜剧里，政治、感情、名气、灵魂... 万事也皆可买卖，每名 记者都变成了大作家。Lucien尝试爱，尝试挣扎，尝试在一切幻象中求存。
导演对功底要多加一颗星，制作精良 ，令人观后会有深思。 一切为了利益的存在都将会幻灭。
再次为柯拉莉心痛一次。电影把小吕涮得真白，把妹夫那条线删完了。演得最好的是埃斯帕，看到她就想到禁治产开头那些话，不寒而栗……（西班牙教士，你在哪里？）
我不信十恶不赦的人会金盆洗手，也不信久经沙场的人最后才发现纹身。
而且各位演员的表演也有点不平均，Lucien的演员表现还是比其他人稚嫩了不少。明明是可以拍成Barry Lydon那种史诗气质的片，可惜了。
巴黎的新闻业√美则美矣，太过于冗长，沉浸感不够！
看吧，有金钱和文字的地方，就有虚荣、谎言、嫉妒、争斗…… 两百年前与两百年后并无差别。 Lucien 身上有巴尔扎克早年巴黎经历的影子，而Nathan则是他幻想中的自己。仔细想想演员选得挺合适的，Benjamin Voisin虽然不是正统帅哥，但脸上有那种天真与狂热交织的感觉。
Un film emportant, empalent, éblouissant de la mise en scène tout en ayant une voix musicale, remarquable. L’adaptation est à la fois moderne et historique. Une densité narrative est également incroyable. Bref, un film ambitieux, luxueux, poignant.

好看，故事完整，流畅，也不枯燥无聊，大概是那个年代的氛围很足，男主很帅，多兰也帅，阶级问题在那个时代影响很大，男主主要是飘了，如果稳一点见好就收就好了，从无到有再到无，经典。
这恐怖的令人惊悚的无声回荡
不愧是巴尔扎克，但旁白是不是有点多余…（意思是旁白好在巴尔扎克写的绝，但念出来意味着电影没拍出来
这是一部集中反映文学艺术商品化及新闻界黑幕的小说，也是《人间喜剧》中最有深度，也最能反映时代精神的杰作之一。小说通过两个有才能、有抱负的青年的遭遇，反映了法国大革命以后整整一代青年的处境和精神状态，指出随着封建制度的解体和资本主义的胜利，必然出现人与人之间竟争角逐的局面，由此无可避免地会产生一首首个人奋斗的诗篇，一出出理想破灭的悲剧。
泛滥的旁白损害了整部片子的气质，导演明显缺乏用影像叙事的能力。巴尔扎克的原著应该更厉害，把整个泡沫社会以及其中异化的人尽数尸解。
让我想去读一下原著了～巴尔扎克系列在现今社会越来越具有警示作用。
虽然只拍出了原著1/5的内容和1/10的深度，但已算是足够优秀的一部电影。片中汇聚了几乎所有法语国家的演员（法国、比利时、加拿大），好在基本不出戏；原著的语言实在太精彩，电影于是加了很多旁白（虽然是比较偷懒的方式，但也还能接受）；电影的很多情节处理得过于温情，以至于显得有点肤浅，原著要残酷得多。
220721 住院期间第一部电影。没有看过原著，拍出来的剧情比《红与黑》要吸引人。惊讶于当时贵族的阅读量，原来人真的可以看这么多份报纸。。。。
