The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up.     故事有质感，但歌曲整体而言稍逊了一筹。这个和Rent给我的观感是大致一样的。就这部电影而言，另一个问题在于，最好听的歌和最重要的几场戏，没能搭配起来。当然要解决这个问题，已经超出了电影创作者的能力范畴了。除此之外，都还算不错。

    林-曼努尔·米兰达的过人之处在于，他能以完全电影化的手段去拍摄他挚爱的音乐剧领域，视听技巧和情感表达都完全不像一位新电影导演，很是纯熟。而叙事中对90年代同性群体和艾滋病恐慌的处理，看似蜻蜓点水，却有着发自心底的关注与重视。当然，剧本编排若能更脱离学院派，更放飞自我，一定会更好。安德鲁·加菲尔德、罗宾·德·齐泽斯的表演完成度不俗。
