The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 片子及格甚至值得四星，唯独用毒品减轻疼痛纯扯淡。口服毒品不是麻醉剂，吃了瞬间不疼，还能保持理智……就很扯淡……口服麻醉品一般都有生效时间，而且作用很难精确，所谓止痛，代价往往是失去理智，止痛往往也将疼痛扭曲为其他感觉。这里不如突出痛感，突出人性，而不是抖机灵，让一个坚持戒毒的人放弃戒毒，从而自救。不吸毒就死，吸毒为了更好生活，这样的选择题不道德也不机灵。吸毒的人才会，人不人，鬼不鬼。
还凑合，氛围营造得不错。就是俩贼好像是在演喜剧，警察是智障。女主的背景交代篇幅有点过多。黑人陆战队好像是24小时里的总统吧

暴风雪山庄式杀人事件，海洛因能害人，也能救人，这一点的辩证提升了作品本身及格线的水准。
反派智商在线，超难对付，女主能活到最后真不容易。
所以 坏人终究死于话多 虽然结局老套 不过故事的中段接连的反转还是很出彩的 轻度悬疑也不错
小成本制作能拍成这样还可以了，女主越看越美
不拖沓，节奏挺快的，调色很好，代入感强，而且女主越看越好看！ 三星半，还是摆脱不了最后多方降智的操作，比如Ash放着女主不先杀非得先放火悼念给女主CD冷却时间，警察接到绑架报案荒山野岭自己来，女主有空说一堆废话没空喊一句"he's a killer"，最后能站着杀女主非得蹲下脖子伸过去让人家捅… 但整体已经很流畅了，一直到最后都很完美，只是很惋惜Ed娶了一个这样的傻娘们儿。
惊悚片三大俗：人死得差不多了，电话信号终于来了；警察救援终于赶到了，分不清状况被反派杀了；反派终于占得上风要得手了，非要呶呶不休被反杀了。
很好看的密室电影，大雪封山，无处可逃。唯一的遗憾是结局没有反转，如果这个女孩是恶魔像禁闭神童就更好了。女主在戒毒所后收到医院电话母亲在手术，她决定去医院看望但被拒绝后偷跑出去偷车前往。但此时下起大雪在路上遇到jc让返回或前方休息站。看到4人在里面一起打牌时，女主去找信号发现某车里有一女孩求助并发短信但没有信号。在打牌时问各自是哪里并去哪里，女主在厕所发现可以去外面的路进车里要解开女孩但这时绑匪上车，她躲在下面偷听并趁机返回时告诉另一男主事情经过，后来女主再返回时女孩说他们意思还有一人合伙，女主被抓回并说如果泄密将杀掉所有人。继续打时时女主看到女孩已经逃出，几人都出去找女孩，女主也在逃跑时滚到下面躲过被枪杀。女孩被老人发现带屋里，女主也跑回来时告诉经过并说老黑有枪，这时他们才不敢进入但准备放火
完成度很高，就是剧情局限性，反复就几个场景！
铺垫太长了，有些情节都能想到没有惊喜，名字叫做no exit但是剧情的那种绝望绝路的惊险没有表现出来。
嗑药还有这用处？以及看完之后总觉得美国好危险…持枪没好结果…
这漫长而惊悚的一夜啊…反转不断，真的很刺激了！！！
这个亚洲妹子越看越顺眼，反转虽然很刻意，但是大雪+密室，加上女主神经质的演技还是能看得下去的
如果换成杰米福克斯+杰森斯坦森一定会给满分的。或许改个名《这个杀手不太狠》。

前半段还是很有氛围的，故事稍微单薄了一点，后面就快进着看了，周五晚上放松可以
中规中矩小成本电影，无脑，略有小趣味。华裔女主演不错。
剧情很老套，不过打发时间还可以，拳馆那段打斗还行。
