The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 这个话题确实很值得探讨，每个人站在不同的立场观点完全不同甚至相反，如男主角的妈妈，作为女权支持者和母亲，爸爸作为儿子的父亲和假设变成女孩的母亲，是完全不同的态度。
严格来说，这个电影的核心思想是在同一个法律框架下探讨不同文化对性的感知，阶层与移民双重复杂的法国社会，不可避免要发生撕裂，最终的结局只能是妥协的，一个似乎能让所有人都得到心理平衡的结果，但实际上正义与真相一样，是永远都得不到的东西。
