The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 当了父母的人看这部电影更压抑，男主角拼命喊出来“为什么是我儿子！”的时候又讽刺又觉得无力，为什么是他/她被霸凌？就因为坏孩子看他/她不顺眼呗。人性之善恶本来就是天生的，有的人生来就是天使，有的人生来就是恶魔！除了年轻的老师和建宇妈妈外全员恶人的设定太让人绝望了。影片前期铺垫很到位，最后一次庭审时的反转有些敷衍，如果庭审内容再严谨一些，节奏再紧张一些，效果会更好。

就非得拍成《鬼吹灯之古董局中局》吗？古董鉴定的部分少之又少，还算什么古董局中局？很失望。
演员好，制作好，故事好，为啥看着就是不得劲？整个故事的逻辑我都没看明白，这到最后，真相不还是把佛头送出去了么？这汗奸也没洗清啊？还留了个悬疑尾，这个要打算拍第二部吗？

很沉重的主题，表现的有些泛泛。不过单看薛叔的部分，感觉还能再延续拍个十几集电视剧…
国内能上影的话会取什么名？我建议用“6+1=？”希望也能如此直面同样的问题！
完全可以理解很多观众对导演的批评，我也有不少认同，但是很多台词都让我感受到了隐匿的细腻，在平庸情节中也能准确捕捉到一些微妙的姛视角，我觉得这反而是导演让我感到惊喜的部分。比如电影里说：我们虽然拥有同样的共同经历，但日后我们对它的回忆会不会是不一样的。我很喜欢这里的思考，并非指“是否是爱情”，而是我们选择了怎么样的“解决”方式来面对以后的人生。两位主演除了亲得不大好（不苛求哈哈哈），演技还是很不错的，尤其长发那位，把一些隐忍表演得很恰当。好久没看纯爱片噜=)
前半段叙事过于平淡缓慢，全靠后半段的反转再反转。犯错的孩子，内心煎熬的终究是父母。
好看，马伯庸目前可说成功的影视改编（嗯，加上电视剧）。
感觉是导演拍到85%后觉得这样稍微有点太白开水太浅，于是强行加戏。老师这个角色也是鸡肋，虽然演员很棒。
2.5星，比较小清新的电影了，片中亲吻的镜头很唯美，但是导演一些故事处理的不清楚，镜头故事线模糊，很多片段看起来都令人头大！说不尊重新郎的人......其实gay片里也不尊重女生啊....甚至还骗女生生孩子呢……两位主演都挺好看的，短发女生的眼睛真的好看！🛏️戏那里眼睛太好看了！突然发现导演是个女生....不会？？？🤔

反转好突兀 最后进度条都快没了 才反转 然后又反转
除了开头雷佳音和张垛爷合伙设局表演骗钱和故事节奏足够快之外，真是想不出什么能说得上来的场面了，只觉得故事开头就立不住脚，人物转变的也莫名其妙，中间几处突兀的剪辑也不像是能赖给审查的……可惜了这么一个夺宝题材，可惜了葛大爷的出演，可惜了咏梅老师的形象颠覆，可惜了在看完《西游降魔篇》和《救火英雄》后对导演你寄予了那么大期望……只有李现的演出和台词出戏的让人觉得这电影还有那么一点可以让观众觉得不值得可惜的地方……
2.5。难得在影院看到一部国产类型片，首先得承认观感是愉悦的，但细节做得很不好。仅看那些古董，没有任何美感可言，那对青花瓷缸，白送都没人要……主角们卖弄的鉴赏门道逻辑不严谨，更不成体系，吴清源等典故的引用太表面了，可见编剧并未做足功课，以至于古董局中局，只看重局的设计，而本来能传递更多信息的古董被忽视，在视觉上也就失衡了，因为这会导致导演的镜头无所适从，没足够的信息量可捕捉，后期只能靠碎片化的剪接推进悬疑，于是从头到尾都没找到章法。
整体逻辑线还是能自治的，演员演技也不错，出于时长原因，部分节奏有点赶。
“我们怎么变得那么生分，连说话都要掌握好分寸，怕不注意流言见缝插针，怕不小心我们成陌生人。”
中午溜出去看了古董局中局，美式大片套路，好笑好看，泪点爽点一个不缺，其他就不要追求太多了。葛大爷宝刀未老，雷大头辛芷蕾正常发挥，李现太僵硬，咏梅的声音抓人，最惊艳的是阿如那。
意外的精彩，故事节奏、视觉效果、解密过程都没掉链子，看完以后有一种久违的畅快感，当然，冷静一想剧本漏洞也存在，故事进程也有点飞快，但是作为院线商业电影，肯定是及格以上的。
