{★★★} 比Belfast更浓的糖水黑白片，加了更多糖的直接结果是，确实变得更好看了。它的重点是在生活差错与辈分隔阂中无效交流的个体们，这部电影试图寻找一种间接的纽带，例如访谈或角色扮演，将他们重新绑系起来。但随之而来的也有独立电影中寻常的宽泛与保守，我们真的需要这种没有触及到任何痛处的类亲子故事吗？舒适，且没有余韵。
利用音乐与声音把较为零散的生活场景与诗化空镜连接起来，一方面利用纪录片式的采访将一些大的议题抛出并用儿童的口吻去回答；另一方面则在叔叔与小孩相处部分，用录音的连续片段将剪碎的时空串联一起，表现出情绪的流淌。
很舒服，比较温情地叙述一些家人之间的故事。和解嘛？不确定。只是去做了而已。
在另一个层面，影片又在实在感与虚无感之间来回交叉穿梭。约翰尼与杰西的关系危机，与采访问题可为互文，借此去思考家庭与亲情的社会议题，拷问纯真与成长的终极意义，

一部什么都没讲的治愈系电影，通过用声音记录青少年观点和看法的微纪录片的形式，再加上各类儿童读物里的经典文本，一个分裂的家庭走向平和，菲尼克斯的声音真的好温柔，但是除此之外就再无亮点了。
