The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 典型的欧洲风格电影。阴郁的气质，昏暗的色调，仿佛一切都笼罩着一层迷雾。故事偏文艺，也偏向个人表达，三场标准的欧式风格性爱场面表现的隐忍又稍显克制。全程在一种灰暗平缓的状态下往前走，没有想象中的“劲儿”，也可以说是力量，反倒是让人深切的体会到当年欧洲人的整体生活状态，老旧的小汽车，阴暗的公寓楼，即使白天也笼罩在雾霾之下。桀骜不驯的罗伯特，最终欺骗了所有人，但是却没有欺骗自己。毅然决然的打倒了大鼻子怪物，拯救了了掰弯自己的艾瑞克。
