The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 群像刻画，法庭交锋，雄浑稳健，精彩纷呈。不愧是律师之子，艾伦·索金重拾最擅长的法庭题材，比92版《好人寥寥》的冲击更甚，而且这回自编自导，不假他人之手，还原半个世纪前的时代风云对于今日美利坚犹有深意。且看颁奖季能否获青睐，得之老骥伏枥，不得也不会影响本片跻身其最佳作品行列。
用了大量的蒙太奇使叙事有节奏和趣味性，每个人物的性格都很张扬，演员演得很好。政治意义大于故事本身吧。
期待错了方向，以为庭审是重点然而只是线索。耗时冗长甚至可笑的审判过程带出了事件的回顾，人物形象也建立得很好（主要是Sacha Baron Cohen）。戏里与当代的美国变得如此相像，但结局方向却很难猜测。
3.5，结构能联想到《十二宫》，索金显然从芬奇那里学到了很多。影像上营造的表现力显然高于事件本身，雕刻痕迹也更重。

最后歌曲响起很感动，虽然对那段历史不太了解，也看得出是美国一贯的电影风格，追求自由才是宪法精神。
