里面描写的20年前台湾学校教育和家庭教育的氛围，像极了现在中国大陆的样子，老师体罚学生，家长打骂小孩，成绩差的学生受排挤，言语霸凌的严重性被忽视。
孩子还无法控制自己的情绪，任性自私，无法共情，任凭情绪暴走。
爱与恨，就在一念之间。和《瀑布》有一点点像，都有冲突，结尾有点戛然而止了。
有点意外地没有那么喜欢这部电影。当然，是比《瀑布》好，但是依旧有点浮于表面。我瞬间有种困惑，到底是电影浮于表面，还是生活本身就浮于表面？

7.5，果然女性导演才能洞察到这种母女之间的情感。最有感触的，是女儿对母亲的“恨及抱怨”，这种情感就像老师说的那样，爱和恨有时候是一体两面。

主题很小但拍的不错，林嘉欣是港台鼎盛时代末期的明星了，印象最深的就是她和学友的男人四十，这部电影里的表演恰到好处

剧本很扎实，并非矛盾转和谐的两段式结构，而是有着层层起伏，像海上的浪一样，而吹动这些风浪的是内外压力的挤压，美国梦的破碎、教育的转向、死亡的威胁、瘟疫的袭扰，每个人都自身难保，糟糕的情绪互相传递，气氛相当压抑。
