The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 弟弟与哥哥漫长的告别，第三幕笔锋一转，以对未尽之作毫不完善的演绎总结这一波三折的"魂归故里"，在粗糙的背景板下略过了人生的跨度，乡愁中更增添了许多遗憾。
我不理解，感觉不伦不类，这也太装了…David Lowery更适合去搞装置艺术。

The first part in B/W could be seen as a journey to bid his brother a moving adieu by transporting the ashes of Pirandello, whose works have been adapted by the brothers, to his Sicilian homeland. Whereas the second part in color is quite confusing for us who have never read the story before. The shift from grey to color is poetic though

还挺吃导演这一套，算是这种题材里比较看得下去的片儿了
既成的文本已然是禁锢，而打破现有认识的结构亦是自我重复的，于是足够繁多的符号却纷纷掉落了下来，观看趣味变为了对符号拾捡的趣味，我们对大卫·洛维的期待真的只是如此吗，或者他这次终被自己反噬，从这个意义上讲，电影可以看作人类永远无法走出的困局，亦是创作难以跨越的瓶颈。
灯光摄影美术方面极佳！故事看不懂，看了高评论才知道却少相应的文化知识背景。
