The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 每看一部新的007我都想回去看皇家赌场，这部甚至还好意思放Vesper的墓🚬怎么说呢，像看了个思想极其保守的主旋律电影，英雄退休了就该有漂亮新老婆还该有小孩，找个黑人女007特工也掩盖不住这股正气🚬越野追逐的大型汽车广告还是挺好看的，丹叔的身手也依旧让人很过瘾，就是这剧情我实在看得犯困，只有00Q元素依旧让我觉得好他妈可爱，Q是最可爱的技术宅乖崽🥺
入场迟到10分钟没有影响到理解剧情，半个多小时之后突然插播了一个MV 质感比正片更好，全片有点没有必要地长，主角光环大到剧情可以闭眼猜的程度。简单来说，就是平平无奇的一部007爆米花电影。

看完结尾……原来007的小名叫无暇……以及思忖良久，无暇同志，我还是想要告诉你一个令人心碎的事实，其实萨古鲁的安伽玛达那就那可以治好你，死大可不必。
因为有告别的加持勉强三星，哪怕实际效果并那么悲壮，中间的古巴大战真不错，相信安娜·德·阿玛斯会成为比女主更惊艳的一员。007代表的是老式的特工电影，和《碟中谍》系列的发展还是有鲜明的对比的，也许跟不上潮流，但是邦德仍然有自己的坚持。不过我比较讨厌的是007这个故事明明可以去一点减法，仍是要搞到故弄玄虚最后也自讨无趣。《天幕杀机》很惊艳，不过一路都这么拍的话的确是有些乏味。(3/5)
剧情和人物关系看得我一头雾水，也懒得去理顺了，英国人说话总是罗里吧嗦。邦德居然死了，这是我没想到的，很悲壮也很感人。
原本对007的终结无感，只是彻底拜倒在古巴特工Paloma的石榴裙下，无意间想起Paloma对邦德说的最后一句话，“下回来古巴一定要多待两天。” 突然意识到，他再也没有机会去了，顿时泪目。
