The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 孩子们看待世界的方式是那样不同，在他们的框架中事物的界限是那样分明，你有时会觉得他们还是过于天真，有时却会被他们随口说出的深刻所震撼。尽管除了欢喜之外他们也有很多自己的烦恼，也有很多愤怒和悲伤，但都是那样的灵动鲜活。

A24出品，黑白画面与温柔气质，实验性大于观赏性，倒很适合夜深无眠时观看。小演员太灵了，Joaquin Phoenix极其自然松弛。
首映当天日テレ放了相关的动画合集，连着一起看的话，电影前半段虽然节奏较慢但填了很多坑所以观感还不错。后半段渐入佳境，キミがいれば响起的时候鸡皮掉了一地。

如何和自己对话，如何倾听别人，如何表达自己以及关心所爱的人，可能是人一辈子要学习的东西。这种从小孩身上重新学习的主题其实很常见，但黑白表现大量对话台词的随便而是的体验又是全新的。
