In 1865, during the siege of Richmond, Virginia, the union soldiers POW Captain Harding, Neb and Herbert escape in a balloon during a storm with two confederate prisoners, Sergeant Pencroft and the journalist Spilett. The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago. 小小的法庭，完整描绘了整个社会的撕裂感，老法官代表了极其迂腐傲慢的美国官僚制度，年轻一辈繁多的面孔都让人振奋不已。
对于这样一场必输之局，Aaron Sorkin挑选的中场戏和结尾高潮处在家的模拟论辩真的非常牛逼，从冗长而充满挫败感的整场审判中揪出了这两个闪光点，然后用力堆叠，可以说高潮戏80%靠剪辑，看起来实在太过瘾了。
说台词像机关枪一样扫射之后就没什么了的，你没看到我们满地的热血吗？
很多年前，我们都觉得外国好极了，美国最佳。后来我们觉得外国好糟，美国最甚。其实都是管窥蠡测。电影里50年前理想主义就可以这么好，庆幸50年后的今天理想主义者尤在，而且处在全球影视文化的塔尖，所以才会拍出这部电影。
如何在一部对话支撑的电影中保持叙事悬念，艾伦索金做的再好不过了，当警察摘下警徽、主角开始念四千人名单，没法忍住内心的震颤。

也许是鄙人经历过1980年代末期的各种运动思潮，对于游行抗争有直面的感受。
太阳底下没有新鲜事，过去发生的未来还会发生。人性如此。

4.5，为思想和文化倾向的审判，这场审判是由谁挑起的？是我们，我们的血。确实，嬉皮士的出发点是没有错的，可其对美国社会造成的影响和危害，是不能以“我们因思想受审”这种伪命题去一笔带过的，虽然没有反转，片子里仍充斥着那股摇滚和不服输的热烈，就和那所谓“垮掉的一代”殊途同归。
艾伦索金的法庭戏真的好看，把原来史上一笔糊涂账拍的条理清晰，电影和现实交替剪辑的抗议戏最为震撼，现实永远比电影最为刺激
